What is the Best pH Level?
The nature of the body is dynamic, there is no magic pH number one must achieve. The level of your body's acidity may fluctuate from morning to evening depending on what you eat, drink, stress levels and other factors. We suggest targeting to be as alkaline as possible in a range of 6 to 7.
From our 10 years of experience, a saliva test is an easy and quick way to determine the pH range of your body fluids. The urine may be tested, but keep in mind that urine is naturally more acidic. The urine pH range is a lot closer than that of saliva and harder to read. The purpose of using a pH indicator paper is to get a general idea of your pH range.
How Do I Perform a pH Saliva Test or Urine Using pH Testing Strips?
Tear off half an inch of the pH indicator paper and allow the saliva to drop, do not put your tongue on the litmus paper. Wait at least 60 seconds. Compare the color of the pH indicator paper against the scale. It is recommended you perform the pH saliva test in the morning before brushing your teeth or at least two hours before or after eating or drinking. We suggest testing yourself at least once a day.
The pH tester strips are light olive green or yellow to start. If you are acidic the testing strip will change to either green or even light yellow, sometimes a very light blue. If you are alkaline the body pH tester paper will change to a clear dark navy blue. The target is to maintain a dark navy blue at all times.
